This is the story of how Lacrosse Trident got started…
My name in Corey Gulick and I recently started coaching 7th and 8th grade boys lacrosse in Fort Worth Texas. I coach a club team where players from different schools play together against private school teams.
We have a slight disadvantage because our players don’t get to interact with each other as much as other teams due to the fact that they don’t go to school together, so I wanted to come up with a way to unite the team and get them all to play well with each other.
My ultimate goal was to encourage teamwork and get my players to encourage each other instead of putting each other down. At the 7th and 8th grade level, the skill level varies greatly so its easy for a more skilled player to criticize a less skilled player for dropping a pass or maybe not knowing what they were doing on the field, which we all know will kill the moral of the team.
So in order to bring the team together I decided I needed a way to inspire all players on my team, not based on skill level or talent, but on being a true team player. That’s when I came up with the idea of “The Coach’s Stick Award.” And that’s where Lacrosse Trident was born.
I had so much fun making the first coach’s stick that I decided to start making wood shafts to sell to players. All wood shafts are 100% custom lacrosse shafts with unlimited designs to help any player stand out at practice or at games. These shafts are completely hand made by me right here in the U.S.A!
